Jeg ved at der er en masse kloge mennesker som frekventerer dette forum - og dermed muligvis også en eller flere, som kan hjælpe mig.
Min kære lillesøster har den (helt korrekte) opfattelse, at jeg som regel kan hjælpe med det meste - og jeg har i denne forbindelse skudt mig selv lidt i foden, da jeg ærlig talt er på bar bund.
Anyways, det drejer sig om et del element til en opgave i Managerial Economics - jeg har postet den nedenfor.
Hvis der er nogen som har et par pointers i forhold til nogle af opgaverne, ved jeg at det vil blive meget værdsat - alt slags hjælp kan bruges, også bare evt. at pege hende i den rigtige retning. Det er vist primært 4.4 - 4.7 som hun ikke helt kan få hul på.
Task 4: Optimization
In recent years, B & O Play has been quite successful in selling their Beoplay H4 wireless headphones. The headphones are presently only sold in Denmark. There are a number of competitors selling similar headphones, such as: Sony, Marshall, Bose, JBL, B&W, Seattle, AKG, JBL, Beats, and many
others. Sony seems to be the market leader, but has only app. 10% market share.
4.1: Describe what market structure Bang & Olufsen are experiencing on the Danish market for wireless headphones.
The present price is DKK 1,050.00 (wholesale ex. VAT) and over the last 12 month B&O has sold 19,800 Beoplay H4. B&O has asked a research agency to evaluate the price elasticity in case of a price increase and the outcome shows a price elasticity of -5 in case of a price of DKK 1,250.00.
4.2: Find the equation for the demand-, MR- and TR functions.
The production of Beoplay H4 has been outsources to a Korean producer. The agreement is that B&O, for all units up to 100,000, pays DKK 370.00 per unit (incl. delivery to B&O warehouse;Struer -Denmark). If Bang & Olufsen exceeds 100,000 units the total variable costs can be expressed by:
TVC = 320·Q + 5,000,000.
4.3: Has B&O been selling the Beoplay H4 at the optimal price (DKK 1,050.00) and if not, what has this disposition cost them?
Beoplay H4 has predominantly been sold to the Scandinavian markets, but due to the high focus on B&O Play, Bang & Olufsen has decided to launch the product on the German market with introduction in pre-Christmas period of 2018. A German research agency has found the maximum turnover (TR) can be achieved at a price equivalent to DKK 800.00, resulting in a quantity of 160,000 units.
4.4: What assumptions apply if you are to introduce different prices in the two markets (Danmark and Germany)? The assumptions must be related to the case in question.
4.5: Find the equation for the German demand-, MR- and TR functions.
4.6: Calculate and illustrate the optimal price and quantity for the two markets. Calculate the contribution margin for the markets combined.
4.7: How much additional contribution can Bang & Olufsen gain by introducing price discrimination, rather than selling in the 2 markets at the same price?
