Hello everyone,
I would like to personally thank my Danish customers and friends and the pokernet community all with whom we have had a long relationship. It has been an incredible journey these past years. We have tried our best to give our customers the best possible personalized service with our small team and I think we have accomplished that goal.
I have personally met and gotten to know many of you from my trips to Copenhagen, to Vegas and abroad. I have many fond memories such as one year in Vegas when we hosted a bar-b-que at the Pokernet house for like 70 people and I was cooking for everyone on this very tiny grill in extreme dessert heat. I am also very happy to have had some of the best players from Denmark representing us at major tournaments, even one who has gone to win the WSOP title. I have watched many of you grow up over the past 9-10 years and some of you now have little families, promising careers, or following your dreams and I am very proud of you. I have also seen tragedy strike some of you.
I don’t want to sound like a politician but yes it has been very difficult times for poker operators in the wake of gambling legislation, severe drops in network liquidities, software companies changing their business focus also, overall economic challenges, etc.
I believe we have done as much as we could and the decision was a difficult one but a necessary one.
I have already arranged for the funds of all of our Danish customers to be made available to our payment processor Webdollar over the next couple of days so that cashouts can go smoothly so no need to worry about that. Just keep in mind the Easter holidays this weekend which can cause a small delay.
I leave you with a couple of pieces of advice: save as much money as you can cause life is expensive and don’t spend more than you can afford. Most importantly, finish your education because in the end, no matter how good or bad poker goes for you, you always have your University degree to fall back on.
A little secret to everyone about me, I don’t play poker... but maybe it’s time to start ♠.
Thank you.
Mvh,
James

Thanks for the good times James and Jen
I have played for many years at Fortune poker, I am a small fish but the times I needed help I was simply treated like a true VIP Fortune poker knows how to make you feel special : ) and the amazing job Jen did when implanting Nem-ID to Danish customers that was filled with difficulties no other bookmaker or poker room helped a much and gave daily updates as Fortune poker did.
The lack of action on Boss network and all other poker networks drives people to Poker Stars that’s just the way business are and no top service from a poker room like Fortune can compete against that.
I am sure if Jen and James what’s to continue in this business they will have no problem doing so there are always jobs to highly qualified people, if time to try something new at the job front I am sure they have no problem finding new exciting opportunities here in life.
Sorry my bad English but sure you get the points. Thanks for the good Times Fortune.
Take Care
Simon
It was a really shitty mail, with really bad news, i found early in the morning.
Fortune has allways been my favorite room, both in terms of layout and the fortune team. Most important, i have allways felt that my money, was 100% safe with you.
I "grew" up playing the boss media network, so it´s really sad to see the possibilities are down to 1.
I regret my 4 months vacation away from poker. Was ment to start again at 1st of april, and was looking forward to come back to the green felt
Well, thanks for the good service, over i dont know how many years.
Wish you the best in the future.

I am getting one of these.
Terrible shame, brings back memories of the time I could actually win in poker.
Best of luck James, hope you'll succeed in whatever your next venture is.

Dear PokerNet/Danish Players,
First of all – I want to thank everyone for their kind words about us here – and for always being so supportive of us over the years. It really has been a pleasure to work with you, and I am very proud of the relationships and friendships I have now in Denmark.
It has been a tough couple of years for us at Fortune Poker – and we have tried our best to continue to service our players as best as possible. As we all have seen, there have been many changes in the industry (and on our current network) that have caused the circumstances to come to this point.
I hope that we will meet again in the future – as I am sure this isn’t the end for us.
As always, if you need any help/assistance over the next few weeks, please just send me an email as I am glad to help however I can.
All the best,
Jen @ Fortune Poker

Hi Jen and James
I am sorry to hear about this decision. It was never a secret to anyone that my preferred poker room was Fortune Poker when I was a player back in the happy days of 2005-2009. I was a small fish, not generating any major revenue for Fortune, but I was always treated like a rockstar anyways. Already then I developed a good relationship with both Jen and James, although it was just on email and phone back then.
So when I moved to Malta to work for PokerNet, it was an easy decision to promote Fortune Poker as one of our Boss Media skins. I owe both Jen and James a big thanks for your great work over time. When you do your job this good, you make ours easier. Also, I am thankful for the long list of advice and help James has offered along the way, both at conferences and in every day business life as I was a newcomer in the industry. James called me at several occasions, warning/telling me about things that moved in the industry, allowing me to be up front with some things that I wouldn't have known about if he hadn't told me. That has helped me a lot in my work, and I owe James a big beer for this, since we couldn't get it at our latest meeting location (McDonald's downtown London).
I have no worries for Jen or James. Good people will thrive, and I'm sure you are both up to something new already. I have no concerns. You will be fine. I just hope this hasn't been too expensive for you, as I know you would take a loss out of your own pocket and sell your houses, cars, and cats, before you would let anything happen to player funds.
Thanks again for the collaboration and all the best in the future. Let's keep in touch, and let me know if you are in San Francisco one of these days for that beer. All the best wishes and Godspeed to you both.
Best regards

Fun fact: James' business card just says "James". No last name. Even Google doesn't have a picture of him.
