Pokerstars-EPT-mails

#1| 0

Godeftermiddag

Hello Jannick,

PokerStars takes great care over the EPT packages. No 'juice' is taken out
of the packages at all, and nothing further goes 'into PokerStars pockets'.
We want as many PokerStars qualifiers as possible, so it would not make any
sense to increase the package price above the basic costs.

As you know, the seat&package price is fixed so that PokerStars can run
regular and properly structured satellite tournaments. We need to keep this
price fixed so that all players qualify on the same basis. And, no, we do
not offer refunds on the package cost. The only exception to this is if a
hotel room is not needed because the player is a resident of the city where
the event is held.

Occassionally, currency swings distort the package price one way or the
other. In these cases, we have not and will not refund the difference. Take
the EPT Grand Final in Monte Carlo. In season two, the currency swing
meant that PokerStars got a small financial benefit because the price of
the euro dipped against the value of the dollar. We received a couple of
emails pointing this out from qualifiers, which is fair enough. No-one,
however, pointed out that the year before PokerStars made a significant
loss when the euro strengthened against the dollar. We simply have to set
what we think is the correct and fair price for each package and then stick
to that figure throughout qualification, whether is benefits us or not.

The rooms prices for Dublin were those reflected in the package. They were
certainly not 50 euro, as you suggested. We accept that the hotel in Dublin
was below standard, but this was an option imposed on PokerStars and not
our first choice.

On the whole, having spoken to many players, and read the emails and the
blogs, Dublin offered unsatisfactory accommodation but a better than
average poker experience. The massive wifi broadband demands of 300 online
poker players was well dealt with by the venue, which was used to handling
maybe a dozen operating laptops at the same time. This service was offered
free of charge to all players. At the tables, players rated the poker room
and the choice of games very highly and appreciated having the poker action
located within the same complex as the hotel.

It is hard to satisfy every requirement, but we will continue to do our
best to make sure that you and other qualifiers enjoy their experience on
the EPT.

Hello Conrad

Thank you for respond.

Im sorry to say but i find your argumentation selective and not apporiate.

What happened in Monte Carlo has nothing to do with my case.

Currency swings work both ways so that argument is not valid.

I dont think expensive broadband was mentioned in the package price and you say that this service was offered free of charge? Well if you look at that argument one more time it isnt really free when you mention it to me when I
