Kirilenko continued her great run with a sound victory over Canadian Aleksandra Wozniak early yesterday, the Russian didn't drop serve once and won almost 70% of all points behind her delivery, often dominating the rallies with superior weight of shot and exposing Wozniak on the stretch defense where she was able to get lots of unreturnables or short replies.

The first set was of a high standard from both women, and although the level dropped off in the second set Kirilenko's shotmaking remained steady finishing with the same amount of winners as unforced errors (19) which was 11 less than committed by Wozniak who produced the same amount of winners but a woeful 30 unforced errors.

Kirilenko led Schiavone 6-1 1-2 in Seoul before the Italian retired and perhaps the same may occur again here; Kiri is serving well, hitting the ball early with confidence and making limited amount of unforced errors, Schiavone lacks the weight of shot to be able to dictate to the Russian and her second ball could be a massive target for Maria. The only concern for Kiri is if she struggles to deal with the changes in pace and angle, and allows Schia to dictate with her serve/forehand one-two punches. Unlikely here, though, it appears Francesca needs a rest after last week reaching her first final in some time.

Nej men nu er dame tennis noget fanden har skabt 1 sæt taber den ene 1-6 det næste 6-1 og så i 3 afgøres det på taibreak. Det er slet ikke til at blive klog på.
